Pre-Order FAQs
In this page, we would like to answer the most frequent question asked by our customers!
Question: Given that the fulfilment rate is so low, would it be possible to process the refund of deposits earlier?
Answer: Long story short: the answer is we want but we cannot, —but we want to explain the reasoning behind it.
When the order was placed, the terms stated that if we’re unable to fulfil it upon release, deposits will be held for up to 6 months. After that period, any unfulfilled orders will be cancelled and refunded.
During the 6-month window, the distributor can still decide to allocate stock to us. If that happens, we’re required to pay the invoice in full—usually within two weeks. If we fail to do so, our account with the distributor risks termination, meaning we’d lose access to all future Pokémon products.
The deposit system also exists to protect both sides. Without it, shops would be exposed if customers back out of large pre-orders, especially from resellers or investors. Sadly, this has happened before—when prices dropped, some disappeared, leaving shops to cover the losses. Deposits ensure that we can continue serving the community without taking on risks that might otherwise force us to close.
Question: Why do you hold customer deposits for extended periods, and is this considered an interest-free loan?
Answer: We are not using deposits as a form of interest-free loan. Our goal is not to generate profit from holding deposits, and we are careful to avoid taking on unnecessary financial risk. If we intended to profit from deposits, we could have easily increased the deposit amount significantly, but we do not.
The deposit exists to discourage customers from cancelling their orders if product prices drop, which would leave the remaining cost for the shop to bear. For example: if a customer pays a 10% deposit of $10 on a product that costs the shop $80, the shop would need to cover the remaining $70 if the order is cancelled. If the customer ordered 100 boxes, the shop would risk covering $7,000, which could endanger our ability to pay suppliers and continue operations.
By holding deposits responsibly, we ensure that orders are taken seriously, helping us manage stock fairly and maintain the sustainability of our business.”
Below are the Pre-Orders Terms & Conditions for Pokemon, One Piece, Gundam, Union Arena, Dragonball & Digimon:
1) No refunds/cancelling of orders once placed.
If you choose to cancel your order before the backlog period ends, you may be restricted from participating in future promotions, lucky draws, or pre-orders.
2) Balance will be collected about two weeks before the release date of the product. Please complete the rest of the remaining payment within a week of receiving the email; otherwise, we reserve the right to cancel your allocation. Your deposit may also be forfeited.
3) Please collect your order within two weeks after the product's release date (for self-collection); otherwise, we reserve the right to cancel your allocation. Your deposit may also be forfeited.
4) If we are unable to fulfil your order during the initial allocation, it will be placed in our backlog for up to six months. Please note that the backlog period starts from the product’s official release date, not from the date you placed your order. During this time, your order will be prioritized as soon as restocks become available. If we are still unable to fulfil your order after six months, your deposit will be refunded.
Example: If a product releases on 1 September and we cannot fulfil your order, your backlog period will run until 1 March of the following year.”**
5) Pre-orders are subject to our store’s allocation. While we strive to fulfil all pre-orders, we cannot guarantee 100% fulfilment of your total order. We reserve the right to determine the final allocation for each customer, meaning pre-orders are not always fully guaranteed. Fulfillment details will only be confirmed once we receive our stock allocation.
6) Backlog Order Policy: Orders placed on backlog will have a fulfillment window of up to six months. During this period, any allocation received must be honored, and payment must be made within two weeks (even if the 2 weeks falls outside 6 months window). Failure to complete payment within the given timeframe will result in the cancellation of the order, including any deposit and allocated stocks.
7) In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond reasonable control, Daimonji Collectibles reserves all rights to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Pre-Orders terms and conditions - in whole or in part, with or without notice.
